Hi all. Currently in Boracay after choosing the following land-sea route:

Alabang-Batangas (bus)
Batangas-Calapan (fast ferry)
Calapan-Roxas (van)
Roxas-Caticlan (roll-on, roll-off ferry)
Caticlan-Boracay (small boat)

As always, when in doubt about a place name, Wiki it!

Now, why go through all that hassle you ask, when there is a direct route to Caticlan from Manila airport? The total price was about half the plane ticket, and that includes an overnight stay at the harbor city of Batangas (heh, at the seediest of seedy motels where 'Guest Relation Officer' companionship was offered. More about that in a later post :p). Weather here in Boracay was great when we arrived, but we had a first taste of the wet season that has just begun today. Why else am I cooped up in an internet cafe? :)

Here are some more pics of our place. First up, a look at the kitchen area from two vantage points:

Hmmmm. Thought the house is furnished. Hope you had made proper arrangements with the broker. Curtains needed, side tables for the bed, working desk, no TV? Where's the fridge (no cold beer or milk - bad for the health). Aircon missing - what will you do on a 35 deg. heat? Who provides bedsheets, plates, etc..., etc....Spartan lifestyle's o.k. but this beats being spartan. You pay good - demand comfort. Rule of the game! Otherwise, NO DEAL.

Ma-the house WILL be furnished, according to whatever we need. That was part of the deal. ;)

We already sat down and drew up a lengthy list of things we wanted installed, including everything you mentioned - blinds (not curtains), sidetables, desks... a fridge is already there but not on the pics, there will be an aircon in the master bedroom as well as kitchen utensils, bedsheets, etc., etc.

We'll be there mostly during the wet season, so 35 degree heat will not occur during nighttime. We went for an AC in the master bedroom only (you'll be happy to know that will probably be YOUR bedroom when you come in August :p) and decided to go with fans for our own bedrooms. Look, we gotta learn to cope with the heat somehow, aight? Besides, we were told an AC really fucks up an electricity bill (around 5,000 or so a month) so we opted to play it safe.
